The Foundation Diploma in Art & Design develops core skills and critical thinking and gives students experience of progression routes within Art and Design. Following a period of exploration, students specialise in an area they would like to pursue at degree level or within the world of work.
The Foundation course helps students find new and exciting ways of learning and encourages risk taking, experimentation and exploration of their artistic practice.
All of our Sports Academies at Durham Sixth Form Centre allow each and every student to develop their sporting talents to a level not normally supported in schools. We currently offer courses in Football, Women’s Football and Golf.
As a member of the Sports Academy, there are opportunities to gain nationally recognised qualifications in sport whilst playing at local, county and national level. Each programme also covers employability skills to prepare students for future careers in their chosen sport or in the wider world of sport.
